I am so excited to be illustrating this picture book written by E. K. Arnold!
I felt so lucky. I invited myself over to see Anne Herbst's newest painting, and she said YES! It's one of the largest paintings she's done, and I got lost in it. Above are a couple of my favorite details.
But. Every time I shot a photo of a detail, another amazing detail appeared within the detail I'd just shot. (See below.)
I met Lucille nine years ago at an inauguration party for Obama. Today she made lunch for me (a healthy salad along with fried calamari !! ) and I brought the prosecco.
